It's actually easy and fun to cook chicken in your own home.
Once you have all the supplies, you can do it in one day.
First of all, you need to buy some chicken.
The chicken breast is the best.
Buy a few big chicken breasts, but be sure to check them before buying them.
You want quality meat with as little fat as possible.
Fat slows down the dehydration process and will make your chicken jerky deteriorate faster.
Make sure you cut off all the fat on the chicken breast.
Once the fat is all off, you need to cut it into thin slices.
One trick here is to put the chicken in the fridge for half an hour before you slice it, the cold will make it beautiful and sturdy so you can easily
Cut the chicken breast into 1/8 to 1/4 thick strips according to your personal preference.
Remember, the thicker it is, the longer it takes to dehydrate.
Next, apply a layer of chicken slices with your favorite seasoning.
Try some different flavors here and you may find the ones you prefer!
Please note how much salt is in the seasoning.
Salt helps speed up the dehydration process and save it, so it's better to add some extra salt if you don't have too much seasoning.
Next, remove the tray from the food dehydrator and use the non-stick spray.
If you don't have one, the dried side of the chicken sticks to the tray, and when you remove it, you lose the seasoning on that side.
Place the chicken breast strips evenly throughout the tray, leave an equal space between them and make sure they don't touch each other.
This is because air flow is required between them when they are dry.
Once they're all in the food dehydrator, turn it on and set the temperature to 140 degrees.
Depending on the thickness of your slice and the exact temperature of the food dehydrator, it may take 3 to 12 hours to dry completely.
It is a good idea to start checking every hour after the first hour.
To check it, just open the tray and take out one piece.
Cut it with a sharp knife and check the inside.
You should not be able to see moisture at all, it will keep the same color all the time if dry properly.
If it's not done, put it back for another hour.
Once it is closed, check is started every half hour.
Don't worry, you just need to check it regularly in the first batch.
Once you know the exact time, you don't have to bother.
Once your chicken jerky is stored in a sealed container, the zip lock bag will solve the problem well.
Write the date you made on it.
You can also store it in the refrigerator with a longer shelf life.
Okay, you're done.
Enjoy healthy snacks!
