The food dehydrator is really an integral part of your alternative energy approach.
Most of us know that the "transition" is coming and many of us realize that when we try to take care of our family without a lot of money, it won't be a pleasant moment or help
I want our government to wave a magic wand and all the oil is gone and replaced by alternative energy and we can all take care of our families.
But we all know it won't happen.
When the shift comes, most of us will work for light, food storage and everything else without flowing electrons.
So one of the things you need at home is the food dehydrator.
Food drying is a simple and old technology.
It does need a safe place to spread the food, and a lot of dry air can be passed between thin pieces.
The sun is often used to provide hot and dry air.
Dry clean air, including dry cold air from any source, dehydrate the food.
The food dehydrator will help you in many ways.
The food dehydrator is a very simple device.
You can buy any of the many models at a fairly cheap price, mostly powered by electricity.
It's also very simple to do one.
You can find many plans on the Internet or in many books.
The important thing is to do it.
Don't just think about it. Do it.
Solar water dehydrator is very important.
In a simple plan you will find a dehydrator made mainly of several cartons, small tape and some transparent packaging.
It is easy to find a picture on the Internet.
Pay attention to how things develop.
Nothing complicated.
Don't do that.
Also, keep in mind that you can make stronger, more durable machines with very little material.
I used the basic idea, but I used some scrap wood and a piece of glass instead of a cardboard box.
The same idea, don't make it more complicated than it is now.
Our purpose here is to make good use of life.
Give the light of the sun.
Make it what you need.
The sun is there for our benefit.
It is almost a criminal act not to use it.
It is very easy to make with two cartons, a little clear tape and a roll of plastic wrap.
This is actually a free device.
Once you put it together, put it on the chair or on the counter, or something else, against the sun.
It's not hard,
Don't do that.
Once you put it together and let it face it right, you have a real, live, fully functional food preservation machine that can be used to save your time and use the surroundings of the House
If you find a picture online, you can see how it is constructed.
You can try using a long and thin cardboard box as a collector and a high and nearly square cardboard box as a drying box.
The box can be easily cut into large and small and then glued together.

You should probably line the bottom of the collection box with a black plastic garbage bag, or you can paint the bottom with a black poster.
Only water-based coatings are used.
This is important. Ms. Kerr (see below)
It is recommended to use some black lights and even mix soot with some vegetable oil.
This will be very effective.
It's important: if you happen to spray paint or other toxic material on the collector, let it bake in the sun for at least one or even two days before you try to use it.
You can cover the top of the collector with plastic wrap or even window glass like I did.
Put it together as shown in the figure.
Just tape it.
I made a more permanent appliance with screws.
If you cover the sides and bottom of two boxes with fiberglass or even foam plastic insulation, you will find that this device is more effective.
If you're interested, you can read how American Indians in the southwest sometimes store their dry grain in large pots that they're very tightly packed.
They then covered them in leather and tied it to a very tight place.
As we all know, they will put these jars on the roof and they will stay there at quite low temperatures.
As we all know, some tribes will keep their dry grain in deep pits, in which they are arranged with flat rocks to try to keep rodents out of the way.
To protect them from rain, they are also covered in wood or leather.
Be sure to choose good food, wash thoroughly, slice, dip, or blan.
Know how to pasteurize, pack with labels, show the date you did this and anything you need to remember about the food, and store it in a cool place, the location is dark and dry.
Do this as much as possible.
Make sure and use it in rotation, use the oldest package first.
If you have extra food, you can crush it with a blender and add it to many foods: beef, sauces, casserole and bread for example.
Be sure to check regularly if your dry food contains elephant nose worms.
Many people think that it is not a terrible pollution.
They are small and clean insects.
They appear from eggs hatched in your storage area.
If you let them grow about 1/2, they will infect your food. long.
From the egg stage, they enter a small cocoon.
A mature elephant nose worm is about 1/2 long and gray. brown moth.
You can limit their intrusion by eliminating adult moths before they manage to spawn.
Don't worry too much if you miss this opportunity to eliminate them.
They look like a very active bug with dark heads.
Keep in mind that if they can get food, they will make a living on your food, so usually they will not carry disease or toxic contamination.
If you do not see them, you will know that they are already surrounded by small brown particles at the bottom of the package.
Simply process and then screen out the residue.
If you store the goods in a closed container, your goods rarely show any signs of infection.
If you store them in a "bread bag", you can almost always find them.
But as I said before, your food may be safe even if there is an infection.
Many of us have heard a grandmother say these little guys are "just a little clean protein ".
"I'm not saying that the elephant nose worm is a great meal, but don't go too far.
Good prevention is the best way.
I found that usually good packaging is the key here and can be stored at the lowest room temperature at the same time.
I don't remember any infection found at temperatures below 70 degrees.
The drying and storage of food is a simple process.
The use of dry food is also simple.
Any fruit or vegetable can be eaten as simply as it is now.
I will wash the fruit clean anyway.
Drain it and soften it in a closed jar in the refrigerator.
Any of your dry goods, I will cover with boiling water a little higher than the product level.
At this point you should probably toss around a little to make sure all the dry parts are in contact with the water.
I will leave the food in the water for about fifteen minutes.
Heavier vegetables may take more time to replenish water.
In addition, another way is to throw the pieces into the growing soup or casserole.
If you have crispy dry grain, you can crush it with a blender and add it to the recipe for bread, soup, casserole, sauces, etc.
If you are making vegetables, you can pour the boiled water on it and steam it for a few minutes.
Of course, it depends on the type of green.
If you are using dry pumpkins or small pieces of potatoes, cover them with about 1/2 of boiling water.

Then cover them with water for 20 to 30 minutes so they get wet to the center of the food.
This is important before you start cooking.
If you have large pieces of potatoes, let them soak for a few hours.
Keep this in mind: most dry foods slowly lose their nutritional value in a few months.
Be prepared for every growing season.
Use it when you get it and don't make it too old.
It should usually be eaten in the coming winter, and once there are other foods, it should be eaten early next spring.
Keep in mind that due to our abundant sunshine, food has been prepared and preserved generation after generation.
You should enjoy and enjoy our rich sunshine.
